Darrell Withun Obituary

Darrell Leigh Withun Darrell Leigh Withun 65, passed away Friday, November 12, 2010, at home, surrounded by loving family after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born September 23, 1945 to the late Bettylou Anderson and Bud Glenn Withun and grew up in Capac. He graduated from Capac High School in 1963 and enjoyed golfing, bowling and softball for many years. Darrell worked at Jolly Jim's grocery for many years as a meat cutter. He worked 2 years at Chevy Gear and Axle, owned and operated Darrell's Shell Service Station in Capac, worked 19 years at ANR Pipeline, 4 years at Saturn Electronic in Oxford and as a bar tender for a dear friend (Spence). Darrell is survived by his wife of 18 years, Lori, his daughter Annette (Ben) Elliott, son Kenny (Lynette) Withun and daughter Tina Harvey; grandchildren Kaitlyn (Brandon) Mirling, Benjamin Elliott, Catie Withun, sister Laurie (Terry) Murphy, brother Dale (Linda) Keller, sister-in-law Diana Withun, step-mother Marianne Keller, step siblings, Brad (Lauralee) Keller, Tammy (Art) Czachowski, Jim (Beth) Keller, Robin Talbot, Tom (Sara) Keller, mother-in-law, Carolyn Harvey and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Bettylou Anderson, stepfather Richard Keller, brother Gerry Withun, mother-in-law and father-in-law Delores and Gary Harvey and brother-in-law Randy Harvey. His family honors the memory of Darrell and invites you to visit and share memories Sunday 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Capac. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday with 10:00 a.m. visiting. Rev. Joan Christoffers, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church, Capac, will officiate. There are no words to express our loss of Darryl. He was a genuinely kind and big hearted man. His jolly nature and cheer came natural to him. He will be surely missed and thought of often in very fond family memories.

What a gorgeous and glorious day in heaven it was when God received Darrell in his loving arms!!i will remember Darrell with a smile on his face and that great sense of humor-most of all i hold him in the highest esteem for taking care of my best friend Tina Harvey like she was his very own.-Darrell Within= the eppitomy of what a REAL man should be-rest well and in peace forevermore Big D!!love you Tina n Lori!
