We ar so sorry to hear about Gordon. We have only know him for about a year and half since our daughter joined PHTWP Fire Dept. He was so good to our daughter and made her succeed at what she was doing. The times we were in his present will always be remembered. What a wonderful man! He was bigger than life! His smile and jokes that made everyone around him happy and laughing. We could say he is probably one of the greatest person we have ever met. Gordon is a big lost to the PHTWP community for all he gave back to everyone that lived here. May our kind words, thoughts, and prayers help you at this time. Peter and Heide Shonka

I had the priviledge of working with Gordie for 4 years at the mill. Last time I saw him (a few years ago) he was the first one on the scene when my step-dad was being rushed to the hospital. He shook my hand and patted me on the back once he saw it was me and my family involved. His booming voice and funny comments will be missed and the township has lost a committed man. RIP Flash.

Abraham Lincoln once stated, "Character is like a tree and reputation like a shadow. The shadow is what we think of it; the tree is the real thing." Through is dedicatation to his country and community, Gordon demonstrated both with a high degree. Not only did he set high standards, but he also ensured others met those standards. His humor and joyfulness consumed the room and made any situation a pleasant one. I am both proud and honored to know him and have him as a firefighter brother. Many times, Flash made my job as an officer much easier; and yes he fun and funnier. My heart lies heavy upon hearing of this loss. The Liverance family, Dunn Paper, and the community of Port Huron Township lost a pillar of the community. My heart and prayers go out to Vivian, the famliy, the Dunn Paper family, and the Port Huron Township Fire Department. Thank you for sharing him with us and have solace in knowing many lives are better due to his dedication and service.
