Casimir Thomas Osentoski Marysville Casimir Thomas Osentoski, 90, died Tuesday, November 12, 2013 in his home after a long illness. He was born March 30, 1923 in Austin Township, Sanilac County, to the late Paul & Angeline (Oparka) Osentoski. He married Mary Kaczanowski on September 9, 1950. She died August 9, 1989. Mr. Osentoski was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, serving in Africa/Italy with the 488th Port Battalion. He was a 66 year, Life Member and a past Post Commander of American Legion Marysville Post #449. He worked for the City of Marysville for many years and retired from Detroit Edison in 1988. He was a Marysville volunteer fireman for 37 years. He was a Marysville High School Class of 1942 Class President, an expert mechanic, loved travel to Alaska and Poland, dancing to polka music, and was the proud owner of a 1915 Ford Model T. He belonged to St. Christopher Catholic Parish in Marysville. He is survived by four sons, Paul, Thomas (Monica), Anthony and Joseph Osentoski, all of Marysville; a granddaughter, Marianna; two brothers, Ernest (Genevieve) Osentoski and Irvin Osentoski, both of Marysville; two sisters, Virginia Ren of Wales Township and June (Robert) Ward of Marysville; and many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ann Osentoski in 2007. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Friday in Marysville Funeral Home, 1200 Michigan Avenue. Mr. Osentoski will lie in state from 10:30 a.m. until the time of Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2013 in St. Christopher Catholic Church. The Rev. Arthur Baranowski will officiate.
