Clarence "Jake" Wade Clarence "Jake" Wade, age 93 died March 2nd, 2013. He was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan on December 9th, 1919, son of Joseph and Gladys Wade. He is survived by his wife, Edna, children Laura Wade, Randall Wade, Deborah DePorre (Pierre), and granddaughters Alexandra and Yvonne DePorre. Jake began playing trumpet at age 7, advanced rapidly, and was playing solo trumpet by 10th grade and played for the rest of his life, his last concert at the age of 90. He spent 5½years in the Army, stationed in Australia, New Guinea and the Philippines with the 128th Infantry and later the 32nd Infantry Division Band. He was awarded the Bronze Star. He attended Michigan State College, where he met and married Edna Reuling. He graduated with a Masters in Music. They moved to Port Huron, where he taught at Port Huron High School and later Port Huron Northern High School. He played in dance bands for reunions, proms, dances and weddings nearly every weekend. He helped organize the International Symphony Orchestra and Junior College Band. Memorial donations may be made to the International Symphony Orchestra of Sarnia & Port Huron, P.O.
