Marysville

Gregory J. White, 68, died unexpectedly, Wednesday February 12, 2014.

He was born September 11, 1945 in Detroit to Ralph and the late Bertha White. He married Penny Krueger on April 14, 1967 in Port Huron.

Mr. White moved to Marysville in 1956 and was a member of the Marysville High School Class of 1963. He was a Master Plumber, member of Plumbers Union Local #98, and co-owner of Gresley Mackay Plumbing until his retirement in 2013. Greg was very involved in the community his entire life. He was an Eagle Scout and for many years was an Adult Committee Member with Boy Scout Troop #216. He was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church where he served on the usher's club and was a CSA volunteer. He was a Little League Manager and played recreational softball for 17 years.  He was a Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council #9526 and member of Elks Lodge #343. He enjoyed fishing and especially spending quality time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Penny; two children, Gregory (Theresa) White II and Denise Miguel; his father, Ralph White; three grandchildren, Lily Miguel, Iris Miguel and Gregory White III; a brother, Michael White; sister-in-law, Terry Krueger; nieces and nephews, Kim Krueger, Amanda White, Marissa Duvall, Dennis (Alysia) White and Justin Howze; a special cousin, Ron (Pauline) Mexicott; and special friends, Barb and Larry Eagen. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis R. White; and a brother-in-law, Dennis Krueger.

Visitation will be 2-7 p.m. Sunday in the Marysville Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.

Mr. White will lie in state from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 17, 2014 in St. Christopher Catholic Church. The Reverend Joseph Gagnon will officiate.

Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jim Venia, Joel Venia, Tim Koerber, Dennis White II, Rico Ruiz and Wayne Steinhaus.
