Kenneth Schunk China Twp. Kenneth Schunk, age 89, of China Twp. passed away on April 22, 2013. He was born in St. Clair on January 28, 1924 to the late Milton and Ruby Schunk. He graduated from St. Clair High School in 1942. He was a U.S. Army veteran and played baseball for the Ft. Lewis, WA post team. He married his wife of 61 years Delores Dodge on April 14, 1951 in Marine City. She preceded him in death on November 5, 2012. Ken worked as a farmer, bus driver and supervisor for the East China School District before retiring from Mich Con Gas Company. He was a member of St. John's U.C.C. of Marine City, Masonic Evergreen Lodge No. 9 of St.Clair, St. Clair Special Police for 55 years, and was active with the Cub Scouts and a 4-H leader. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, golf, walking for exercise, woodworking, and watching the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions. He is survived by his son, Duane (Karen) Schunk; grandsons, Erik (Kayla) Schunk, Kevin (Katie Zuzula) Schunk; siblings, Velda Cleland, Phillis Behringer, Bill (Patty) Schunk. He was preceded in death by his sister, Lois Eisen. Services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Visiting hours will be Friday from 2 to 4:00 p.m. and 6 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
