Mary Elizabeth Krafft

Sister Mary Elizabeth Krafft Garrison, NY Sister Mary Elizabeth Krafft, SA a Franciscan Sister of the Atonement, died on April 29, 2010 at Cabrini Nursing Home, Dobbs Ferry, NY. She was 78 years old. Sister Mary Elizabeth was born on December 2, 1931 in Port Huron, Michigan to George Krafft and Mary E. Wisson. Sister joined the Franciscan Sisters of the Atonement at Graymoor, Garrison, NY in 1961. She professed her first vows in 1962 and her final vows in 1968. As an Atonement missionary, she served in Cathechetical and Pastoral ministry in Canajoharie, NY, Hamden, CT, Saco, ME, Grants Pass, OR, Amsterdam, NY and the Motherhouse, Garrison, NY. Sister is predeceased by her parents, and brothers George Krafft Jr., William Krafft, Robert Krafft, Joseph Krafft, Leo Krafft, Gerald Krafft, C. John Krafft and sisters, Jane Philips and Veronica Willing. She is survived by her sisters, Patricia Johnston, Carolyn Krafft and Marjorie Neumann. The Liturgy of Christian Burial was held in the Motherhouse Chapel on May 3, 2010. Burial followed in the Sister's Cemetery, Graymoor, Garrison, NY. Local arrangements are by the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.
