Dr. Michael A. Ogboh D.O.

Marlette

Dr. Michael A. Ogboh D.O.  age 58 of Marlette died at home on June 4, 2013. He was born May 7, 1955 in Ghana West Africa. He graduated from Michigan State Osteopathic School of Medicine.. He was united in marriage Nadya Shlyahovskaya on March 18, 2006

Doctor Ogboh practiced in Montanna several years before moving to Brown City and serving  the community from Family Healthcare for 24 years.  He was Medical Director of United Hospice Services and Rural Health Care Services.  Michael was team doctor for Brown City High School  sports for many years. He was an accomplished marathon runner who ran in the Chicago and Detroit Marathons. He was fluent in several languages and the originator and 17 year sponsor of the Duane Smith Memorial 5K run.  He had also been a member of Brown City Rotary Club.

He survived by his wife Nadya, a daughter Linda and step daughter Polina and son Donovan , brothers Edwin and John and sisters Alice, Celestina and Maria, a niece Augustina and her husband Patrick Mushale and  a dear friend and mentor Denwood (Linda) Parrish.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his mentors in laws   Nash and Alice Lawrence.

A gathering and viewing  will be Thursday 2:00  to 8:00 p.m. at Carman Funeral Home in Brown City.

Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church  in Marlette.

Memorial contributions may be made to United Hospice or St. Elizabeth Catholic Church.
