 William L. Artman, 81, of Marysville, died Friday May 17, 2013.

He was born February 13, 1932 in Detroit to the late Andrew and Hulda Artman.  He married Janice Flann on December 15, 1978 in Port Huron.

Mr. Artman retired from Mercy Hospital in 1995 as Chief Engineer after 38 years of service. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.  He enjoyed woodworking, making things in his shop at home and spending time by the water.

He is survived by his wife, Janice; children, Leslie Artman, Andrew (Ann) Artman, Marianne (Joe) Lynch, Debbie Keighley, Theresa (David) Verlinden, Melissa Matecki, Daniela (Glen) Goen, Scott (Jessica) Flann, Jennifer Taylor and Christopher (Catherine) Flann; many beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren; three sisters. Charlotte Mendoza, Dorothy Rohloff and Helen (Chester) Okalski; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Artman.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2013 in the Marysville Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Long time friend James Opferman will officiate.

Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Council.

Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital.
