William Philip Gerlach Marysville William Philip Gerlach, 81, died Monday, November 12, 2012. He was born May 16, 1931 in Anderson, Indiana to the late Gustav and Mildred Gerlach. He married Margaret Schieman on November 18, 1950 in Port Huron. She died January 21, 2008. Mr. Gerlach served in the U.S. Navy Reserves. He was employed as a supervisor for many years at St. Clair Rubber and retired as Plant Foreman from Versatile Manufacturing in 2000. He enjoyed puttering around the house and family dinners. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Tom Ganley of Marysville; granddaughter and husband, Kimberly and Brian Kernohan of Port Huron; grandson, Jim Ganley of Gilbert, Arizona; five great grandchildren, Morgan and Garret McVay, Kaitlyn, Katrina and Thomas Ganley; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Marv and Margaret Harm of Amarillo, Texas; brother-in-law, Louie Schieman of Westland; brother and sister-in-law, Gus and Lil Gerlach of Port Huron; several nieces and nephews; family friend, Claudia Insalaco; and his canine companions, Toby and Jinx. He was preceded in death by his son, William "Mike" Gerlach. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday in the Marysville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 16, 2012 in the Marysville Funeral Home. The Reverend Arthur Baranowski will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
