Marvin Kozfkay, age 83, died Wednesday, April 23, 2014 in St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Port Huron.
He was born July 23, 1930 in Harbor Beach, son of the late Thomas and Stella Kozfkay. He and Everine Scherret married on February 14, 1953 in Port Hope.
Marvin was a devoted husband, who visited his ill wife on a daily basis. He was a member of the St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Lexington. He retired from AT&T in 1986 after 34 years of service. Marvin was an honorary lifetime member of the Croswell Fair, serving on the board for 40 years. He also enjoyed gardening, doing yard work, and being outside.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Everine; son Alfred (Cathie) Kozfkay, son-in-law Jerry McGarvie, all of Croswell; sister Jeanette (Ed) Smeader, of Flushing; four grandchildren, Christopher (Leslie) McGarvie, of Clifford, Rebecca Krawczyk, of Croswell, Alicia Kozfkay, of Marysville, and James Thomas Kozfkay, of Croswell; eight great-grandchildren, Ryan, Declan, Austin, Keira, Paige, Grace, Alaina, and Brayden; and many nieces and nephews.
Marvin was preceded in death by his son James Marvin Kozfkay, daughter Sharon Lee McGarvie, brothers Stanley, Raymond, and Norbert Kozfkay.
Funeral Services will be held 11 AM Monday, April 28, 2014 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Lexington. The Rev. Barry Sheldon will officiate. Burial will be in Croswell Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Pomeroy Funeral Home, Croswell from 1-8 PM Sunday, and at church 10-11 AM Monday.
