Vincent J. Bowen, 69, Wales Twp., died Thursday, June 5, 2014 in the Blue Water Hospice House. He was born November 5, 1944 in Lambs, Michigan to the late James N. and Sarah (Sadie) Mathews Bowen. He attended Wales Center School and was a 1963 graduate of Memphis High School. He proudly served his country honorably in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was a life time member of the VFW Gleason-Butler-Sharpe Post 5585, Emmett and a member of Blue Water Vietnam Veterans Post 284, St. Clair. Vince enjoyed trapping, hunting, fishing and outdoor activities. He also enjoyed playing cards and shooting pool with friends.

He is survived by a sister, Shirley (Harvey) Woods of Kirbyville, Texas; a brother, Gary D. Bowen of Yale; nephews, Robert Woods of Texas and Richard (Linda) Woods of Utah and James R. (Erin) Bowen of Elkton, Michigan; two great nieces and two great nephews and special friends, Lauren Short and Ginger Pruss.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, June 14th in Kammeraad-Merchant Funeral Home, Memphis with visitation from 11:00 am until the time of service. Military Honors will be conducted under the auspices of the St. Clair County Allied Veterans. Memorial may be directed to the Emmett VFW Post 5585. To send condolences, visit:
