 Edward Skyler Krumlauf 97, of North Street, died Thursday, July 31, 2014.  His God and church, his family and friends were the cornerstones of his life.

He was born February 4, 1917 to Murl and Minnie (Holmes) Krumlauf.

Ed was a mechanic all his life.  He worked for the City of Port Huron as their heavy equipment mechanic and at the city police garage before moving to the General Motors Tech Center before retiring.  He was a member of Fraternal Order of Police for many years.  He and Ruth loved traveling the states in their motor home and spending winters in Florida.  He was always a very hard worker.  He raised his children with love and pride and taught them to love the Lord and live a Godly life. Family reunions in Traverse City were one of the highlights in his later life.  He also loved hunting and fishing with his friends and relatives.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Ruth Krumlauf; children, Donna (Jerry) Keller, Roger Krumlauf , Dr. Gayle Wilkinson, Reverend Dennis (Dr. Jane) Krumlauf, David (Joan D'Argo) Krumlauf, Maryalice Chester, Janie (Max) Young  and Jim Chester; a sister, Phyllis (Clyde) Packer; a sister in law, Marvel Krumlauf; grandchildren, LuAnn Barton, Becky Bolar, Kristine  Hicks, Heath Krumlauf, Aaron Krumlauf, Sarah Wilkinson, Eric Wilkinson, John Krumlauf, Jennifer Wood, Derrick Krumlauf, Zeb Krumlauf, Sarah Young, Annie Chester and Dave Chester; 23 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Ed is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Bonnie Sue Krumlauf; brothers, Clayton, Melvin and Raymond; and a sister Viola.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 18, 2014 in Lakeport Wesleyan Church, 3871 Harris Road, Lakeport with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m.

Memorials may be made to Lakeport Wesleyan Church.
