Jean E. Jemison Port Huron Jean E. Jemison, age 74, departed this world on Thursday, November 15, 2012 in Port Huron Hospital. He was born to the union of Charles and Birdie Mae (Culpepper) Jemison on July 29, 1938 in Brent, Alabama. Jean met his wife of 45 years, Anna Belle in 1962, and later married in 1967. Jean worked at Little Brothers Foundry before becoming employed as a core setter at New Haven Foundry, where he worked for almost 30 years. He loved to work on cars, play cards, dominoes, and watch wrestling. He was a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, and sang with the male chorus. Jean leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Anna Belle, his mother, Birdie Mae Culpepper of West Blockton, Alabama, 3 daughters, Kimberly Jemison of Port Huron, Karin Whittler of Detroit, and Elizabeth (Byron) Jackson of Lima, Ohio, 4 sisters, Amy (Richard) Hunter of Birmingham, Alabama, Helen Fleming of Talladega, Alabama, Jewall (Gregory) Graham, and Mary Edwards both of Port Huron, 4 brothers, Eddie (Diana) Jemison of Mobile, Alabama, Chester Jemison of Montecella, Alabama , Charles (Anita) Jemison, and Bobby Jemison both of Port Huron, 4 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Jemison. A funeral service will take place at 12 noon Wednesday in the Smith Family Funeral Home - North, 1525 Hancock Street with The Rev. Carl Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeside Cemetery. Visitation will also be on Wednesday beginning at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. www.smithfamilyfuneralhome.com.
