Ruth B. Schneider Obituary
Ruth B. Schneider Ruth B. Schneider passed away peacefully on January 15, 2013, surrounded by her family and friends. Ruth was born on April 8, 1932, daughter of the late Andrew and Lydia (Runk) Falk. She graduated from Port Huron High School in 1949. Shortly after graduation, she married Joseph Britz. He passed away at a young age. She married James (Jim) R. Schneider on November 17, 1967. Jim was a pilot and they enjoyed their many plane trips together. Jim passed away on September 13, 1983. Ruth "Ruthy" began a 25-year Real Estate career in 1988. She was very passionate about finding her customers the perfect home and was loved by both her clients and colleagues. Most of all, she cherished her family time. Ruthy was a devoted horse show mom, she loved being in her kitchen, hosting parties at home and preparing the perfect menu. In later years, she looked forward to special vacations with her grandchildren at the family lakefront cottage in Canada. Ruthy was best known locally for her unbridled passion for football. She truly loved the game and especially her Mariners. As so perfectly stated today on the Marine City Mariners Football Fan Club Facebook Page, "Mariner Nation lost one of its biggest fans." Ruth leaves behind a son, Jeffrey (Kelly) Britz; a daughter, Annie (Patrick Gibson) Schneider; grandchildren (Shane and Ramsey Britz); brother-in-law Bernard Elsholz; sisters-in-law, Sandra Gramer, Debra Langell, and Audrey Schneider; many nieces and nephews; special caregivers Eloyce and George Wisenbaugh; and beloved canine companion, JoJo. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, sister-in-law Jeanne Elsholz, and brother-in-law James Gramer. Visitation hours are Friday, January 18 from 2 pm to 8 pm and Saturday from 12:00 to 1:00 pm prior to the 1 pm service at Young Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 4061 St. Clair Highway, East China, MI. Memorial tributes may be made to the wishes of the family.
