Fred N. DeMott Sandusky Fred N. DeMott, 88 of Sandusky passed away peacefully Saturday, April 6, 2013 in his home. He was born January 16, 1925 in Riley Center son to the late Norman and Edna (Eagling) DeMott. He graduated from Memphis High School in 1943 and went on the St. Clair County Community College where he received his associates degree. He married Donna McGregor. Fred served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. Mr. DeMott worked as Chief Chemist at Yale Rubber Manufacturing in Sandusky for 45 Years. He was a member of the Sandusky First United Methodist Church, Masons and served on the Sandusky District Library Board for many years. He is survived by his wife Donna of 63 years; Maureen and Larry Babcock (daughter) of Walnut, MS, Janice Salvatore (daughter) of Sandusky, Al and Tammy DeMott (son) of Sandusky; Mildred Evans (sister) of Smiths Creek; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Ken DeMott; sisters Martha Lorf, Edna Posner; and son-in-law Shawn Salvatore. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. in Marsh Funeral Chapel, Sandusky, with Pastor Jerry Griggs officiating. Burial will follow the service at Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be donated to Sandusky District Library, Sandusky First United Methodist Church or Marlette United Hospice Service.
