Kenneth James Adolph, age 79,  went home to be with the Lord on June 14, 2013, in his home, with his family by his side.  He was born on June 5, 1934 in East Detroit.  His first wife, Leona Ramsey, passed away on October 3, 1994.  He married Sylvia McAlpine Kelley on May 25, 1996, in Columbus Township.  He is the son of the late Adolphus and Bernice Adolph.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, a Spc. 3rd Class of the Engr. Aviation Bn. He was a retired letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring after 35 years, in Warren.  He was a member of the Columbus Bible Church, current President of the Salvation Army Golden Agers, a lifetime member of May O'Brien VFW Post and was a Past Vice-Commander of the Smiths Creek American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia, daughter, Brenda (James) LaFrance, son, Kevin (Katie) Adolph, Sr., son, Frederick (Alissa) Kelley, II, son, David (Vicki) Kelley, 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, sisters; Cheryl Christ, Lois VanBuskirk and Edna Graham, brothers; Roger (Lucille) Adolph, Eugene (Betty) Adolph and Terry Adolph, sister-in-law, Sharon Adolph, along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Alvin Adolph and Floyd Adolph, grandson, James LaFrance II, and granddaughter, Celine Kelley.

Funeral services will be held on: Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at 4:00 pm in the Columbus Bible Church, 1770 Palms Rd., Columbus.  Reverend Woodrow Nelson and Ronald Graham will officiate.  Burial will be in Caswell Cemetery.  Visiting will be from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm, prior to the service in the church.

Arrangements by: Jowett Funeral Home - 1634 Lapeer Ave. at 17th St., Port Huron.

Pallbearers will be: Robert Kowalec, Darcy LaFrance, Kevin Adolph, Jr., Frederick Kelley, II, David Kelley and Robert McAlpine.

Memorial tributes can be made to the wishes of the family. St. Clair County Allied Veterans will conduct military honors.
