John Allan Malachi, 85, departed this life on September 20, 2013.   He was born August 30, 1928 in Port Huron to the late John and Lucille Malachi.

He married Yvonne Blanchard on July 7, 1957.  To this union two children, Anthony and Andrea, were born.

John was educated in the Port Huron Area Schools and served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.

He retired from New Haven Foundry in 1981.  He was member of Faith Christian Community Church.  He loved fishing, cooking Bar-B-Que and working on automobile engines.  He delighted in his grandchildren and their achievements.

He leaves to cherish his memory  his devoted  wife of 56 years, Yvonne; loving son Anthony (fiancée Linda Mitchell) Malachi and daughter, Andrea (Charles) Wansedel; three  beloved grandchildren, Anthony Malachi, Tairan (Morgan) Cooney and Adriana Jordan;  a great-granddaughter, Ariana Malachi; a great grandson, Dean Cooney; two nieces, Laurena (Carlton) Hill and Sharyn Malachi; cousins, Marilyn (Preston) Yancy, Althea (Rick) Foster, Roberta Floyd, Patricia Leonard, Carolyn (Dwight) Blackledge and Ronald Scott; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at noon Wednesday, September 25, 2013 in Faith Christian Community Church with Dr. Jeffery Williams officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10 AM until the time of service.

Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.  Graveside military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Air Force.

Memorials may be made to Blue Water Humane Society.
