Port Huron
Hazel May Downing, 96, of Port Huron, died Wednesday, March 23, 2016.
She was born June 25, 1919 in Lynn Township to the late Robbie and Mary Curvin. She married Harold Downing on May 6, 1939 in Napoleon. He died May 2, 1973.
Mrs. Downing worked in housekeeping at Marwood Nursing and Rehab for several years. She loved singing and dancing and especially enjoyed square dancing, her choral group and her walking group. Her sons were her pride and joy.
She is survived by eight sons, Kenneth (Ethel) Corwin, James (Cathy) Corwin, Charles (Mattliene) Downing, Gene (Barbara) Downing, H. John (Linda) Downing, Michael (Carol) Downing, Lowell (Donna) Downing and Terry Lee (Anita) Downing; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and great great great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Waive Kennedy; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2016 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. The Rev. Donald Doerzbacher of Our Saviour Lutheran Church will officiate.
Burial will be in Christian Memorial Cultural Center, Peck. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
