BURLINGTON - Deacon Dallas Lee Farrington, 78, of 1170 NC 49 North, died March 6, 2014, at Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell.
He was the son of the late Mr. Atlas Jackson Leroy Farrington and the late Ms. Grace Foust Farrington and the husband of Mrs. Hilda Stanfield Farrington.
He is survived by three daughters-Rita Farrington Clark of Durham, Anita Farrington of Winston-Salem, and Marella Farrington of Greensboro; two sisters, Marella Moore of Burlington and Virgilla "Jill" Farrington of Oakland, CA; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was a member of the Deacon Board, Baptism Ministry and he carried communion to the shut-in; he was a cell leader as well. He was a great giver and generous with many. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, welding and carpentry. He loved family gatherings and loved talking to everyone. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his wife and family.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 1:00 pm in the Roy Blackwell Chapel of Blackwell Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 11, 2014 one hour prior to the service with the family arriving at 12:30 pm; Public Viewing will be Monday, March 10, 2014 from 1:00 pm – 8:00 pm in the Roy Blackwell Chapel; At other times, the family will receive friends at the residence. Burial will be at Farr-Marr Cemetery.
Services are entrusted to Blackwell Funeral Home, Burlington, NC.

Marella, Anita, Mrs. Hilda and Rita, I am truly sorry to hear about the passing of Mr. Dallas. He was a great joy. I will always remember his smile. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.

Marella, Anita, Rita and Ms. Hilda, please know that I may not have been at the service but know that you all are most definitely in my heart and on my mind. I know Mr. Dallas left you plenty of memories. May all of you find comfort in those memories and the legacy he's left behind. Lean on the Lord and let him carry you through this time.
