BURLINGTON - Mrs. Mildred W. Laughon, 88, of Arbor Drive, Burlington died at the Hospice Home of Alamance-Caswell on Sunday, June 29, 2014, at 2:55 p.m.
A native of Caswell County, she was the wife of 66 years of B. L. "Bug" Laughon, who survives and the daughter of Peter Paul Willis and Jennie Lunsford Willis, both deceased. She retired after 26 years from Morris Plan Bank and was a member of Davis Street United Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband of the home, survivors include a daughter, Jane L. Gallimore of Greensboro; sister, Nancy W. Shelton of Yanceyville; and special niece, Donna Swicegood Pyrtle and husband Wayne.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Ann W. Swicegood and three brothers, Carl Mack Willis, James M. Willis and H. Paul Willis.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at 11 a.m. by the Rev. James L. "Jim" Rosser and the Rev. Jimmy Weaver. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m.
