JAMESTOWN - Mrs. Kathy Griffin Tucker, 52, of Jamestown, departed from this life on Thursday, June 13, 2013, at her home.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 17, 2013, at Pine Hill Cemetery in Burlington, NC, with her father, the Rev. Julian Griffin officiating.
Born September 29, 1960, in Danville, VA, Kathy was of the Baptist faith. After high school she studied interior design. She had a gift of making any house into a home. Kathy was a great cook and enjoyed taking meals to neighbors and friends. Her greatest joy came from helping others. She never met a stranger and was a great conversationalist. Kathy's greatest accomplishment in life was her three beautiful, intelligent and caring daughters. She enjoyed the simple things in life, was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her. Kathy was preceded in death by her mother, Rebecca Bailey Griffin.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of twenty years, Bill Tucker of the home; daughters, Hope, Holly and Julie Tucker; father, the Rev. Julian Griffin and step-mother, Betty of Burlington; sisters, Patti Hope and husband Frank of Burlington and Becky Jones and husband Steve of Danville, VA; brother, David Griffin of Burlington; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends at the home on Sunday afternoon beginning at 4:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215.
