BURLINGTON - Mrs. Barbara Dixon Parker, 63, of 2008 S. Mebane St., Apt. 745G, died June 26, 2013 at Hospice of Alamance-Caswell.
She was the wife of the late Mr. Harold Parker Sr., and daughter of Mr. John Clifton "Pete" Dixon and Mrs. Georgia Anna V. Lawson Dixon, both deceased. She was a member of Wayman Chapel AME Church in Graham where she served on the Usher Board. She loved to shop as she was a thrifty shopper. She loved her family.
Survivors include a son, Harold Parker Jr. (Tabitha) of Burlington; daughters, Tammy Blount (Larry) and Vanessa Patel (Jeff), both of Graham; a brother, Larry Dixon; sisters, Rosa Mae Love of Burlington and Marie Dixon Latta of Morris Creek, N.C.; sisters-in-law, Brenda Lawson and Shirley Lawson; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Joe Lewis Dixon, Sam Tee Archie Lawson and Early Junior Lawson.
Public viewing will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 29, at Blackwell Funeral Home in Burlington. At other times the family will receive friends at her daughter's residence, Tammy Blount, 1325 Beaufort Drive, Graham, N.C.
Family visitation will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 30, 2013 prior to the service. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 30, at Wayman Chapel AME Church with the Rev. Warren delivering the eulogy. Burial will be in Martin's Chapel Baptist Church cemetery.
