GRAHAM - Mrs. Irma Lea P. Newlin, 84, of 5765 Swepsonville-Saxapahaw Road, died at the Hospice Home on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at 3:18 p.m.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Ervin Newlin and daughter of George Phillips and Ola Smith Phillips, both deceased. She was retired from the United States Postal Service, where she worked for 20 years at the Saxapahaw Post Office. Irma was a member of Salem United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Newlin Farrell and husband, Gene, of Graham, and Lynne Newlin Clapp and husband, David, also of Graham; three special children in her life, Hayley Fearrington, Kenley Fearrington and Kendal Fearrington; and a brother, Harold Phillips and wife Wilma, of Graham.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lois Lloyd and Marie Boggs.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at 3 p.m. at Salem United Methodist Church by the Rev. Cindy Lister. Burial will follow at Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, from 6 until 8 p.m. At other times the family will be at the residence.
Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell, 918 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
