Scott Haskill Obituary

SNOW CAMP - Mr. Scott Allen Haskill, age 38, was granted his Angel wings on March 31, 2013. His final day was spent surrounded by family and friends that Scott had touched in some way throughout his short, yet memorable life.
He had many people that loved him and he had a very special love for wife, Deanna, Richard, Jamie, Ellen, Pattie and Steve.
Scott's life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. His smile brought so much joy to family and friends.
Scott was very active in A.A. and his sobriety date was July 26, 2009. He was also active at Cane Creek Friends Meeting. He was there for anyone in need. He was tough but a big softie at heart. He loved his family, friends, and his God. He will be missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
Survivors include his wife, Deanna Haskill of the home; daughter, Ellen Soule "Jade" of Michigan; father, Larry Haskill and wife Nina of Grand Rapids, Mich.; mother, Cindy St. Arnold of Danville, Ind.; sister, Mindy "Pooh Bear" Saunders of Danville, Ind.; brother, John Haskill of Grand Rapids, Mich.; three cousins, Richard St. Arnold and wife Jamie of Snow Camp, Chris St. Arnold and wife Brenda of Snow Camp and Sharon Oslund of Grand Rapids, Mich.; nieces and nephews, Tasha, R.J., Christian, Gabriel, Christopher, Logan, Mason, Tabatha, Ava, Aaron, Ryan, Jordan and John John; and beloved cat, Smokey.
A funeral service will be conducted at Cane Creek Friends Meeting on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at 1 p.m. by Mr. Mark Tope.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. At other times they will be at the residence of Richard St. Arnold.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lupus Foundation of America Inc., P.O. Box 418629, Boston, MA 02241-8629.
Condolences may be offered at www.richandthompson.com.

Not sure what to say?

Scott encouraged me from day one. We had a lot in common. Sarcasm and cynacism were a constant thing we exchanged. Friendly debates about sports. He exuded a never say die attitude. He was my friend and I will always remember him. Thank you Scott

My love,
I know you are finally free of all the cruelty and pain you have suffered throughout your life. I know you are happy and watching down from heaven. I miss you and the pain that I am going through is worth every second of time that we had together. I just wish we would have had more time together. You helped me to become the person I am today. We taught each other so many special things. Things that made us grow and be better people in this world. This is not "Good-bye" it's "See you later". I know in my heart that when it is my time you will be standing there at the gates of heaven waiting for me with that beautiful smile of yours with the dimple I love so much. Thank you for loving me and allowing me to love you. You will always and forever be in my heart and soul. Smokey and I will take care of each other so don't worry.

Love you Always and Forever your wife,

Deanna A. Haskill

Scott was a man who was an excellent role model for other men in so many ways. Those of us who knew him were very grateful for the time we got to spend with him. He will live long in our memories as an inspiration and greatly missed in our company. My thoughts and prayers go out to all his friends and family. Thank you Scott for sharing your time with us. Scott, it was my pleasure to meet and get to know you a bit. It was an encouragement to hear about the battles and struggles that you allowed God to help you over come. May you rest in peace and spend eternity in a much better place. I know you will be missed by your wonderful wife and I pray that God will comfort her and the whole family during this time. Until we meet again in Heaven, Chip
