BURLINGTON - Mary Evelyn Wellons Fogleman, 78, of Burlington died on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013 at 5:46 a.m. at the Hospice Home in Burlington.
A native of Johnston County she was the wife of the late Henry Donald Fogleman and the daughter of James Clarence Wellons Sr. and Mary Delia Kittrell Wellons, both deceased. She was a former school teacher of the Alamance County School System.
She is survived by two daughters, Tiffany Sharpe and husband Randal of Burlington and Janet Palmer and husband Craig of Graham; three grandchildren, Taylor Sharpe, Megan Palmer, and Amber Palmer; two sisters, Anne Woodard and husband Kenneth of Derwood, Md. and Joyce Jones and husband Donald of Selma, N.C.; and a brother, Leon Wellons and wife Joan of Sims, N.C.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, James Wellons, William Wellons, and Ralph Wellons.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013 at Alamance Memorial Park by Pastor Steve Hinton. The family will receive friends at Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington from 12:45 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the graveside service. At other times the family will be at the residence.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff of Hospice for their care and support.

Mrs. Fogleman was one of my teachers at E. M. Holt School as was Mr. Fogleman and fine ones at that. So sorry to hear of her death. The family has my deepest sympathy. May God comfort you in your sorrow.
