Oakley, Mrs. Lillian Tate*  
EFLAND - Mrs. Lillian Tate Oakley, 94, of Harmony Church Rd. Efland, NC, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday December 21, 2014 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Robert H. and Mattie Workman Tate and the wife of the late Sneed Hughes Oakley. A native of Aberdeen, NC, she was retired from Efland Hosiery and worked with Peaches N Cream for numerous years as well as on their farm with her husband in Cedar Grove. She was a member of Mt. Zion Christian Church where she loved her Church and Church family. She was an avid quilter and she enjoyed flowers and gardening. Survivors include her sisters, Hazel T. Hargis, of Mebane, Patsy T. Jolly and husband Allison, of Arkansas, and Frankie T. Moore, of Virginia; brother, Hurley Tate and wife Louise, of Efland; sisters in law, Joyce Tate, of Efland, Jenny Tate, of Oregon, and Joan Tate, of Efland; and many loving Nieces and Nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by sisters, Lettie T. Allison, Mary Belle T. Poole, Annie Laurie Bowman, and Nellie T. Gentry; brothers, Hallie Marion Tate, Robert "Buck" Tate, Hermon T. Tate, and Billy E. Tate. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday December 23, 2014 at the Mt. Zion Christian Church with the Rev. Dr. Rick Webster officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:45 prior to the service on Tuesday at Mt. Zion Christian Church, and other times at the residence of her Sister in law, Joyce Tate at 8508 Harmony Church Rd. Efland. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mt. Zion Christian Church at 3210 Mt. Zion Church Rd. Mebane, NC 27302. Condolences may be offered at
