Waller, Mrs. Helen Oldham*  
BURLINGTON - Mrs. Helen Oldham Waller, 89, of Burlington died at the Hospice Home on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015, at 10:35 a.m. A native of Guilford County, she was the wife of the late William Jap Waller, Sr. and the daughter of the late Emma Elizabeth Oldham Kizer. She was a retired pairer at Carolina Hosiery. Helen was also a Pink Lady and a member of the Auxiliary at Alamance Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Riverside Baptist Church and the Believers Sunday School Class. Survivors include a daughter, Janice Harrison (Andrew) of Haw River; son, William J. Waller, Jr. (Karen Devine) of Burlington; eight grandchildren, Venus Long (Eric), Jay Cates, Tracey Mitchem (Greg), Heather Harrison, Timothy Harrison (April), Laura Maglione (Tony), Jennifer Waller and Anna Waller; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. In addition to her husband and mother, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Connie Louise Waller and three sisters, Hilda Frazier, Evelyn Rich and Ruby Bennett. The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Monday, March 2, 2015, at 2 p.m. by Rev. Bob Stephenson and Rev. Curtis Oakley with the family receiving friends from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. Waugh, Annie Marie Harvell*  
OXFORD-GRANVILLE COUNTY - Annie Marie Harvell Waugh earned her angel wings on Feb. 26, 2015, after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Marie was born in Pitt County, but moved to Burlington at an early age where she graduated from Walter Williams High School in Burlington and attended Kings Business College and Elon College. Marie moved to Oxford in June 1960 when her husband was assigned to Granville County by the N.C. Highway Patrol. Marie became an active member of the community. She was a member of the Oxford Junior Woman's Club, serving in many leadership roles over the years, including president. Marie served as chair for Granville County March of Dimes campaigns. She was a member of Oxford Presbyterian Church where she served for many years. She loved cooking; especially sugar cookies. Many children over the years enjoyed decorating and eating her sugar cookies. She would prepare cookies and bring decorating supplies to local school classes during the holidays for the children to decorate. Marie's family, friends and pets are what she cherished the most. She enjoyed playing bridge and dabbling in the stock market with the Granville Nuggets. After her retirement from Hancock Properties, she enjoyed spending time at her family's beach home with her granddaughter and entertaining family and friends. Marie is survived by her husband of 59 years, James Harold Waugh; son Jay Waugh and his wife Anita, and their children Audrey and Austin; and daughter Catherine Waugh, all of Oxford; her beloved brother Andy Harvell and his wife Sara, of Melbourne Fla. and Andy's sons, John Harvell and his wife Heather of Presque Isle, Me., Jacob Harvell of Melbourne, Fla. and their mother Jane Gregus Harvell of Rockville, Conn. Marie adored her brother-in-law Donald F. Waugh and his wife Jean of Clayton, N.C. and their son Donald Waugh and his wife Ashley of Summerville, S.C.; her sister-in-law, Nancy Waugh Blythe and her husband Aaron of Winston-Salem, N.C. were dear to her heart. Their sons, Kevin Blythe and his wife Kathy of Havre de Grace, Md., and Keith Blythe and his wife Laura of Winston-Salem, N.C. brought joy to Marie's life. She has many grandnieces and grandnephews that she loved dearly as well. She was preceded in death by her father, A. Frank Harvell; her mother, Annie Lee McLawhorn Harvell, and nephew Adam Harvell. A memorial celebrating her life will be held Sunday, March 8, 2015, at 3 p.m. at the Eakes Funeral Chapel in Oxford by the Rev. Alan Koeneke. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford, N.C . In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Granville County Spare, P.O. Webster, Sarah Terry*  
CEDAR GROVE - Sarah Terry Webster, 61, of 8708 Bama Road, died Sunday, March 1, 2015. She was born in Person County and was the daughter of the late Coy Franklin and Nellie McCullough Terry. Mrs. Webster worked at the Orange County Sheriff's Department where she served as the Quarter Master. She loved helping the Sheriff's Department and churches with fundraisers. Mrs. Webster also loved camping, farming, and was an avid seamstress and NASCAR fan. She attended Lamb's Chapel. Surviving is her best friend, companion, and confidant, Donnie Roundtree, of Cedar Grove; three children, Susan Webster Turner, Lisa Webster and Anthony Webster, all of Cedar Grove; three brothers, Gurney Terry and Donnie Terry, both of Surry, Va. and Lawrence Terry of Leasburg; four sisters, Shirley Scarlett of Mebane, Phyllis Phelps of Hurdle Mills, Sharon Terrell of Cherry Grove and Teresa Peters of Mebane; six grandchildren, who were the apples of her eye, Bradley Turner, Sarah Turner, Lindsey Turner, Laney Webster, Jayda Webster and Nathan Webster; and granddog, Bandit. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at the Brooks and White Chapel by Captain John Sellew. Burial will follow in Wheeler's Primitive Baptist Church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at Brooks and White Funeral Home and at other times at the home. Pallbearers will be Bradley Turner, Nathan Webster, Terry Joe Boswell, David Loftis, John Woody, Coy Terry, Roger Dale Terry, Isaac Scarlett, Brandon Powell and Ethan Scarlett. Whaley, Penny Marie Cook* - Mebane  
MEBANE - Penny Marie Cook Whaley passed away Feb. 28, 2015. She is survived by her husband Michael Chad Whaley, her children Stormie Jones and Chad Robbins, Shayne and Wayne Jones, Zane Phillips and Truitt Whaley; granddaughters, Julie, Autumn and Carliegh; her parents, Judi and Larry Cook; her siblings, Laurie and Nick Majdanski, Tina and Rob Agnello, Cristyle and Zack Chockley; three nieces and three nephews. She was a member of the Peoples Church in Mebane. She was very outgoing, never met a stranger in her life. She was friends with everyone. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and she absolutely loved dolphins and the beach. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 7, at 11 a.m. at People's Church in Mebane, 303 W. Crawford St., Mebane, NC 27302 Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush, I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in a circled flight, I am the soft stars that shine at night. BURLINGTON - Patricia Butler Whitesell, 77, died at the Hospice Home in Burlington on Friday, March 6, 2015, at 1 a.m. A native of Guilford County she was the wife of the late Sherman McKinley Whitesell and the daughter of James Bryan Butler and Ethel Hamilton Butler, both deceased. She worked as a legal secretary for Western Electric and Lucent Technologies. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Patricia is survived by a son, Mitchell Dean Whitesell (Lisa Thrift) of Burlington; a grandson, Justin Todd Whitesell; two sisters, Sue Willet and Sarah Berrier; two brothers, Butch Butler and Wally Butler; and special friends, Pat Tucker, Debbie Wooten, Virgie Bruner, Mandy Frissell, and Linda and Rick Roberts. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a son, Mark Whitesell; a daughter, Debbie Whitesell; and a sister, Becky Ring. A funeral service will be held at Emmanuel Baptist Church on Monday, March 9, 2015, at 11 a.m. by Pastor Kevin Smith. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. GREENSBORO - Cynthia "Cindy" Davis Williams, age 56, of McLeansville, passed away Monday, March 2, 2015, at Moses Cone Hospital. Cindy was born Dec. 19, 1958, to the late Benjamin Davis and Jo Ann Melton in Alamance County. She was employed by Verizon Business and a member of Greensboro Christian Church. She is survived by her husband and best friend Edward Williams and two daughters Whitney and Hayley of Raleigh, father-in-law Grady Williams, sister-in-law Lisa Williams, nephew Adam Williams, special friend Bennie Sizemore and stepmother Sandy Davis. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and her three grand-dogs whom she loved dearly. A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Thursday March 5, 2015, at Forbis & Dick N. Elm Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service.
