Betty Kay Quakenbush McGinnis

ELON - Mrs. Betty Kay Quakenbush McGinnis, 83, of 625 Huntingdon St., died at the Hospice Home in Burlington on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at 11:25 AM.
A native of Guilford County, she was the wife of the late Braden Allen McGinnis Jr. and the daughter of Leo Braxton Quakenbush and Betty Lavene Quakenbush, both deceased.
She is survived by a daughter, Sherry McGinnis Stewart of Burlington; three grandchildren, Autumn Craig and husband, Roger, Patrick McGinnis and wife, Amanda, and Scott Stewart and wife, Heather; two great-grandchildren, Alyssa Whitesell and Brayden McGinnis; and a sister, Hilda Quakenbush Hodgin of Graham.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Mike Patrick McGinnis.
A memorial service will be held at the Rich and Thompson Chapel in Graham on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at 3:00 p.m. by the Rev. Chris Phelps. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends prior to the memorial service on Tuesday from 2:00 until 3:00 PM at Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham. At other times the family will be at the residence, and at the residence of her sister Hilda Hodgin at 1268 Cherry Lane Road, Graham, NC 27253.
