MEBANE - Bobby Lee Sutton, 77, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2014, at the Hospice Home after six months of failing health.
He was born in Alamance County to the late Lewis Marion Sutton Sr. and the late Myrtle Williams Sutton. He was the husband of 48 years to Peggy Jean Cobb Sutton, who survives.
Bobby retired after 42 years with Cone Mills and was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and he had a nickname, "Muskrat".
Survivors, in addition to his wife of the home, include his son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Desha Sutton of Graham; daughter, Tracey Denise Sutton of Burlington; granddaughters, Jasey Scott Sutton and Baley Brianna Sutton; brother and sister-in-law, Clyde and Pat Sutton; sisters, Margaret Petty and Jessie Lowe.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Patsy S. Garner; brothers, Marion Sutton Jr. and William David Sutton.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 24, 2014, in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Chuck Perkins and the Rev Curtis Pruitt.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and at other times at the home.
