BURLINGTON - Brendan J. Palmer, 90, of 1511 Von Bora Court, Burlington, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013, at Twin Lakes Nursing Center.
He was born in London, England, in 1923 and came to New York in 1929 with his parents and three sisters. During World War II he was in the U.S. Army and earned four Battle Stars from Normandy until war's end in Germany. He was the son of Patrick Palmer and Marguerite Murphy Palmer, both deceased.
He married Evelyn Hart and they raised three children Bruce, Brian, and Lynn who along with their spouses raised nine grandchildren. After retiring they moved to Florida and in 1999 moved to Twin Lakes.
He is survived by a daughter, Lynn Palmer Regolini and husband Ronald of Seacliff, N.Y.; two sons, Bruce B. Palmer and wife Patricia of Paris, France, and Brian H. Palmer and wife Linda of Gibsonville, N.C.; nine grandchildren, Shawn Palmer, Morgan Palmer, Brendan Palmer, Christopher Regolini, Jill Regolini, Meghann Fairchild, Patrick Palmer, Caitlin Chacon, and Melissa Gaspers; two great-grandchildren, Nicholas Chacon and Dakota Gaspers.
In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by three sisters and a granddaughter, Crystal Truitt.
A memorial service will be held at Twin Lakes Foley Chapel on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Paul Gabriel.
The family will receive friends at Rich & Thompson Funeral Home in Burlington on Friday, Aug. 30, 2013, from 6 until 8 p.m. At other times the family will be at the residence.
