ELON - Mr. Carl Boone Coley Sr., 84, of 115 Georgetown Drive, died at his residence Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at 7:40 p.m.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Becky Ward Coley, who survives, and the late Betty Ann Coley and the son of Freeman Coley and Annie Boone Coley, both deceased.
He was an Elon College graduate and owner of Coley Moving and Storage which was an agent for United Van Lines. Carl was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter, the Bula Masonic Lodge #409 A.F. & A.M., the Burlington Shrine Club and the Alamance Country Club. He was an active golfer and fisherman.
In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include two daughters, Ann C. Wilson and husband Don of Arlington, Texas and Linda C. Trail and husband Mark of Burlington; son, Carl B. "Chris" Coley Jr. of Greensboro; three grandchildren, Tyler Boone Wilson, Katherine Ritchie and Alyson Coley; two great-grandchildren, Kadence Strouth and Deliah Manning; special niece, Janet Lineberry; several nephews; and his faithful companion and dog, Brittany.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Coley; and sister, Susie Davis.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter on Monday, June 9, 2014, at 11 a.m. Masonic graveside rites will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. Members of the Bula Masonic Lodge #409 A.F. & A.M. will meet in emergent communication at the church at 10:30 a.m.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. At other times they will be at the residence.
