Mr. Charles J. Parker

MEBANE - Mr. Charles J. Parker, 86, of 3568 Parker Farm Road, died at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at 7:50 p.m.
A native of Wake County, he was the husband of Marie Terry Parker, who survives, and the son of William Alvis Parker and Mary Watson Parker, both deceased. He was a retired supervisor at Hillsborough Textiles and a member of Phillips Chapel United Methodist Church.
In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include three daughters, Linda Parker Scott and husband Steven of Mebane, Dona Parker Bowland and husband Danny of Burlington and Terry Parker Morris of Mebane; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Gertrude Parker Scott, Carrie Parker Rumley and Doris Parker McCauley, all of Elon; and brother, Al Parker Jr. and wife Zella of Elon.
He was preceded in death by an infant sister and a son-in-law, Mike Morris.
The funeral service will be conducted at Phillips Chapel United Methodist Church on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 2 p.m. by the Rev. John Woodard, with the family receiving friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service in the church fellowship hall. The entombment will be at the Mausoleum at Alamance Memorial Park.
