Charles Thomas ""Tommy"" Rice

Charles Thomas "Tommy" Rice, 69, of 609 Blackwell Drive, Mebane, NC was born in Alamance County on April 17, 1944 and passed away in the home on Sept. 14, 2013.
A life long resident of Alamance County, he was the son of the late Charlie and Deillie Rice both deceased. He was also the husband of the late Cathy Neighbors Rice.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Rice Beaddles and Nellie Rice Kernodle. He is survived by his two brothers Louis (Sandra) and Johnny Rice, both of Mebane. He leaves behind his three children and six grandchildren, Charles Lee Rice (Kristine) Destiny, Matthew and Emily Steiskal of the home; Jeffery Thomas Rice (Joanna) Hailey, Travis and Trevor of Snow Camp, Tina Rice Coble (Billy) Tyler of Liberty. He also has many nieces, nephews and dear friends that he leaves behind. He also leaves behind two very special friends Alisa and Scott.
Tommy was a painter all his life and was always bragging that his daddy had a paint brush in his hands when he was five.
He attended Antioch Missionary Baptist Church where he was led to the Lord and baptized by Pastor Steve Loy. We have blessed assurance that we will see him again one glorious day. We would like to thank the nurses and aides at Liberty Hospice for their time and care that they gave to him during his last days. Tommy will be missed by many (the walking joke book). A memorial will be at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 1358 Antioch Church Road, Burlington, NC 27217 at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013. Family will receive guests from 2-3 p.m., and the service will begin at 3 p.m.
The family will be at the home of Lee and Kristine Rice at other times.
