Mr. Clayton "Buck" Davis

BURLINGTON - Mr. Clayton "Buck" Davis, 77, of Burlington, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013 at 8:09 a.m.
A native of Halifax County, N.C., he was the husband of Janette Vick Davis, who survives, and the son of Esmond Davis and Elizabeth Johnson Davis, both deceased.
He served in the Coast Guard for 10 years. Buck was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Korean Conflict and the Viet Nam War. He retired from Roadway Express after 30 years of service and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include three sons, Mark Davis of the home, Barry Davis and wife Sherry of Graham and Joel Davis and wife Allyson of Stephens City, Va.; brother, C.B. Davis of Roanoke Rapids; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Davis; and two brothers, Wilbur Davis and Gene Davis.
A private service will be held for the family.
