BURLINGTON - Deacon Clyde M. Smith, 66, of 233 W. Harden Street, died Sept. 15, 2013 at his home.
He was the husband of Mrs. Claudia Terrell Smith and the son of Mr. Nathaniel Smith and Mrs. Edith Mae Burton Smith, both deceased.
Deacon Smith was a member and Deacon of Morgantown Baptist Church, Kitchen Committee Chair, former usher and Senior Choir member. He was retired from Burlington Industries as a Training Instructor.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; son, Eric Christopher Smith of the home; daughter, Carla Swanette Smith of Winston, Ga.; five grandchildren, Kristie Haith, Chanukah Smith, Niqorya Nettles, Tyrick Gattis and Christin Madden; six great-grandchildren, Kenya, Daykwon, riley, Aayden, Brayden and Braylon; great-great-granddaughter, Armani; brothers, Walter L. Smith (Lisa) of McLeansville, Michael Smith (Lucille) of Saxapahaw, and Jerry Smith and Rodney Smith, both of Burlington, N.C.; sisters, Edith Paulette Alston (Robert) of Gibsonville, Joanne ""Tenie"" Fuller and Deborah Smith, both of Burlington.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Charlotte RaShone Smith.
The public viewing will be held Tuesday from 1 to 9 p.m. at Sharpe Funeral Home, Burlington.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013 at Morgantown Baptist Church. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service and at other times they will meet at the home. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery.
