BURLINGTON - Mr. Earl Eugene Alston Sr., 68, of 2913 Anita Court, died Jan. 28, 2013 at ARMC.
He was the husband of Mrs. Elizabeth Alston of Burlington and son of Mr. Eugene Alston and Mrs. Gertrude Yancey Alston, both deceased. He was a self-employed auto mechanic. He loved to work on cars and collect and haul scrap metal. He also loved spending time with his family. He was a member of Faith Tabernacle Church.
Survivors other than his mother include three sons, Earl Alston Jr. (Theresa) of Burlington, Eugene Alston and Ken Alston, both of the home; one daughter, Latonya Sellars of Burlington; three brothers, Michael Alston of Durham, George Alston (Carolyn) of Liberty and Julius Wayne Alston of Durham; seven grandchildren; two special sisters-in-law, Nancy Fuller and JoAnn Long; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a son, Allen Lee Pinnix and a brother, Billy Lee Alston.
Public viewing will be Friday, Feb. 1, 2013 from 1 to 8 p.m. in the Roy Blackwell Chapel of Blackwell Funeral Home in Burlington.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013 in the Roy Blackwell Chapel. Visitation will be Saturday, Feb. 2 one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery. At other times the family will receive friends at 1924 N.C. 49 North, Lot 223, Burlington.
