Mrs. Eula Shatterly Kirkpatrick

BURLINGTON - Mrs. Eula Shatterly Kirkpatrick, 97, of 3324-D Pond Road, Burlington, died at her residence on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at 11:50 a.m.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Charlie M. "Mutt" Kirkpatrick and the daughter of Lem Daniel Shatterly and Mary Etta Bain Shatterly, both deceased. She retired from Smith Drapery. Eula was a member of Alamance Lutheran Church and the Golden Agers. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors include two daughters, Lue Trell Payne and husband Randy of Burlington and Brookie Kirkpatrick of Burlington; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph Shatterly and William Shatterly and four sisters, Alma Hayes, Beatrice Hoke, Nannie Wheeley and Helen Isley.
Eula's life will long be remembered by her family and friends. Her dedication and love to family, sense of humor, strong work ethics, creativity and many talents are an inspiration to those she leaves behind. She was a selfless person whose memory will be treasured.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Nathan Hooks officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. At other times they will be at the residence of a daughter, Brookie Kirkpatrick, 3430 Pond Road, Burlington, N.C.
