BURLINGTON - Evon Lunsford Barnwell, 90, formerly of North NC 49 died Saturday, May 31 at Alamance Health Care Center surrounded by her loving family. She was a native of Caswell County, retired from the textile industry and a member of Cross Roads Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim Henry and Myrtle Simmons Lunsford; husband, Robert Banks Barnwell; sisters; Wilma L. Stadler and Louise L. Willis; brother, Willie T. Lunsford.
She is survived by her children, Wanda Light and husband William of Haw River; Kent Barnwell and wife Lynn of Burlington; sisters Dorothy Oakes of Leasburg, Lula Bell Slade of Yanceyville, Elaine Briggs and husband Wayne of Yanceyville; Brother J.H. Lunsford, Jr. and wife Carolyn of Milton; Grandchildren, Andrea Bray and husband David of Clemmons; Patrick Barnwell of Burlington; step granddaughter, Tracy Doner and husband Mark of High Point; great grandchildren, Amelia Bray and Norah Bray of Clemmons; step great grandchildren, Ketelyn Ford, Olivia Rodriguez, Joshua Rodriguez, Kaylee Doner and Tristian Doner all of High Point.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday at Cross Roads Presbyterian Church conducted by Rev. Matt Randolph and Rev. Tempe Fussell. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at McClure Funeral Home in Graham 6-8 Monday night, other times at the residence of Kent Barnwell, 1611 Tuck Drive, Burlington.
