WASHINGTON, D.C. - Ms. Gennett Jackson, 64, of 4508 Quarles Street NE, Apt. 21, died Feb. 4, 2013 at Georgetown Hospital, D.C.
She was the daughter of Mr. Henry Lester Jackson and Mrs. Muzet Wilkerson Jackson, both deceased.
She was a proud 14-year employee of United Airlines. Ms. Jackson was a graduate of Caswell County High School and a member of some equal rights groups. She loved to sing with a group called Grace Light.
Survivors include sons, Herman Jackson of the District of Columbia and Henry Jermaine Jackson of Dumfries, Va.; daughters, Muzet Jamillah Jackson of the District of Columbia and Abena Jackson of the home; brother, John Paul Jackson of Pelham, N.C.; sister, Yvonne Watlington of Roxboro, N.C.; 12 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The public viewing will be Saturday from 1 until 8 p.m. in the Roy Blackwell Chapel of Blackwell Funeral Home, Burlington, N.C. At other times the family will receive visitors and friends at the home of Yvonne Watlington, 308 Newell Street, Roxboro, N.C. 27573.
The funeral will be conducted Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013 at Hamer Baptist Church, 4425 N.C. 62 North, Blanch, N.C. at 3 p.m. The Rev. Daniel Elmore will provide the eulogy. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 until 3 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
