ELON, N.C. - Mr. George "Bo" Evans, 81, of 2195 Stadler Road, died Nov. 2, 2013, at his residence.
He was the husband of Mrs. Addie Watlinton Evans, who survives, and the son of Mr. Jesse Newton Evans and Mrs. Lottie Daye Evans, both deceased.
Mr. Evans was a veteran of the U.S. Army
and a member of Visitor's Chapel United Church of Christ. He was a retired machinist for Machine & Manufacturing in Graham. He loved working outside, welding and could build almost anything. He had an innovative mind which could create many things.
In addition to his wife of the home, he is survived by a son, Troy Sellars of Washington, D.C.; daughters, Rebecca Johnson (Carl) of Caswell County, Ruby Spinks (Reginald) of Reidsville, N.C. and Delois Lloyd (Gilmer) of Graham, N.C.; brothers, Henry Eugene Evans (Rose) and Roy Evans (Pauline), both of Burlington and Larry Evans of Graham; sisters, Joan Evans, Linda Wiley (Bobby), Adelle Crawford (Roy Lee), Mae Fannie McCollum and Annie Bell Harvey, all of Burlington; a daughter-in-law, Glenda Evans of Yanceyville; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a son, Danny Evans; brothers, June Evans and Tommy "Buck" Evans; and a sister, Katie Poole.
The public viewing will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013 at Blackwell Funeral Home, Burlington. At other times the family will receive friends at the residence.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013 at Camp Springs UMC with the Rev. Irene Farrington delivering the eulogy. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service with the family arriving at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
