George Isley "Buck" Coble

GRAHAM - Mr. George Isley "Buck" Coble, 84, of Graham died peacefully at home on Saturday, May 11, 2013 following a year of failing health.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of the late Margaret Beal Coble and the son of Carl Coble and Beatrice Isley Coble, both deceased. He retired from Monarch Hosiery. Buck was an avid Duke fan. He loved holidays, family beach trips and most of all, his family. He was a member of Swepsonville Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Ms. Terri Davis of Graham; two sons, Mr. Gary B. Coble and wife Ellen and Mr. John A. Coble and wife Melissa, all of Graham; three sisters, Mrs. Jack Farrell of Graham, Mrs. Nell Rudisell of Florida and Mrs. Betty Vaughn of Swepsonville; grandchildren, Matt Davis and wife Jill, Amy Davis, Mary Strickland and husband Bradley, Megan Lyon and husband David, Katie Ballard and husband Matt and Kevin Coble; great-grandchildren, Mattie and Sarah Davis, Savannah and Blake Strickland and Colton Lyon.
He was preceded in death by a stepfather, Handy Wood and two sisters, Mildred Roberson and Alice Newlin.
A memorial service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Graham on Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at 11 a.m. by Mr. Matt Ballard with the family receiving friends from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
