Geraldine Marshall Hanks

BURLINGTON - Mrs. Geraldine Marshall Hanks, 85, of Wade Coble Drive, died at the Hospice Home on Saturday, July 27, 2013, at 3:45 a.m. after a brief illness.
A native of McKenzie, Tenn., she was the wife of the late William Robert Hanks and the daughter of James Marshall and Willowdyne Curtis Marshall, both deceased. She was a graduate of the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tenn., and a former bookkeeper. Geraldine was a member of Front Street United Methodist Church and the Church Circle No. 4.
Survivors include her son, Thomas Marshall Hanks, of Carlsbad, Calif.; daughter, Ann Elizabeth Hanks, of High Point; and a sister, Jane M. Satterfield, of Talbot, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by a brother, James C. Marshall.
A memorial service will be conducted at the May-Foley Chapel at Twin Lakes Community on Monday, July 29, 2013, at 2:30 p.m. by the Rev. Mark Menees with the family receiving friends after the memorial service.
