Harold Wilson Halacheff

BURLINGTON - Mr. Harold Wilson Halacheff, 90, of Burlington, died at the V. A. Hospital in Durham on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of the late Alice Warren Halacheff and the son of Marin Petroff Halacheff and Beulah Mae Askew Halacheff, both deceased. Harold was a veteran of the U. S. Army-Air Force serving during World War II in the Pacific Theater and the Korean Conflict. He was a retired truck driver for Associated Transport and a member of the Teamsters Local 391 Union. Harold was a member of the First Baptist Church of Burlington.
Survivors include a son, Harold Richard Halacheff and wife Libby of Elon; two grandchildren, Jacob Holt Halacheff and Joseph Vasil Halacheff, both of Elon; three brothers, Billy Ray Halacheff of Burlington, James Franklin Halacheff of Mebane and Ralph Halacheff of Graham; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Lee Halacheff and two sisters, Helen H. Creech and Marie H. Dowdy.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Terry Creech. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. Other times they will be at the residence of a son, Richard, 306 West Lebanon Avenue, Elon, NC 27244.
