Harriet M. Heckard

MENTOR, Ohio - Harriet M. Heckard, 80, passed away March 28, 2013 at Hospice of the Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio.
Born December 21, 1932 in New Castle, Pa., she was the daughter of the late John D. and Anna Houston Glenn. On May 9, 1953 she was married to Robert Heckard, who passed away on December 8, 2012.
Mrs. Heckard lived in Willoughby, Ohio from 1957 – 1986 and then lived in Elon, N.C. from 1986 to 2012. She graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio in 1976. She worked as an accountant for the law firm of Gallagher, Sharp, Fulton & Norman in downtown Cleveland before moving to Elon, N.C., where she worked for SouthEastern Chemical Corp until she retired in 1998. While living in Willoughby, she was a member of the Willoughby Eastern Star.
Harriet is survived by daughters, Deborah Koeth and husband Richard of Mentor, Ohio and Carol Hood and husband Richard of Twinsburg, Ohio; five grandchildren, Richard Koeth and wife Denise of Fairlawn, Ohio, Robert Koeth and wife Kim of Bratenahl, Ohio, Amanda Lynam and husband Garrett of New York, N.Y., Chelsey and Kendric Hood both of Twinsburg, Ohio; great-grandson, Alden Scott Koeth; sisters, Margaret Bean and husband Dallas of Franklin, Mary Lou Brown of New Castle and Suzie Ealy and husband Harold of Sharpsville, Pa.
Harriet was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Currie; and brother, John Glenn.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2013 at the Gardinier Funeral Home Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, with the Rev. David Janz, pastor of the Christ United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Franklin Cemetery.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Hospice of the Western Reserve, 300 East 185th Street, Cleveland, OH, 44119.
