BURLINGTON - Harriet Whitlock Wilson, 91, of Burlington died at Liberty Commons in Burlington on Friday, March 7, 2014, at 3:05 a.m.
A native of Greenwood, S.C., she was the wife of the late Ralph Gerrald Wilson Sr. and the daughter of Robert Harrison Whitlock and Frances Arrington Whitlock, both deceased. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. As a Lay Leader and representative of her church, she attended the United Methodist Conference in Fayetteville for 26 years. She was also very active in the Women of the Church.
She is survived by five children, Ralph G. "Gerry" Wilson Jr. and wife Deborah of Burlington, Frances A. Wilson of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Robert Whitlock Wilson of Burlington, Margaret W. Buedel and husband Thomas of Hillsborough, and Ellen W. Smith and husband Haley of Burlington; seven grandchildren, Christopher G. Wilson, Scott H. Wilson, Samantha L. Wilson, Elise M. Buedel, Bronwyn K. Buedel, Marina S. Buedel, and Ethan R. Smith; three great-grandchildren, and a very special cousin, Celeste Claiborne of Greenville, S.C.
A funeral service will be held at St. Paul's United Methodist Church on Friday, March 14, 2014, at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Lee Pittard. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday, March 13, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Rich & Thompson Funeral Home in Burlington.
