Harry Mitchell "Mick' Poe passed away on July 5, 2013 at home and was buried at Oakwood Cemetery in Mebane, N.C. Private services were held on July 7, 2013. McClure Funeral Home in Mebane handled the arrangements.
Mick was born on Aug. 2, 1941, to Andrew Jackson "Jack" Poe Jr. and wife Mary Elizabeth "Pete" Jones and was grandson of Andrew J. Poe Sr. and with Sissie Belle, and Archie Vernon Jones and wife Bessie McDade, all deceased.
Also preceding him in death were uncles and aunts, Robert G. "Buck" Jones and wife Betty (living), Freeman McKee Jones and wife Lucille, Annie Mae Jones Wilson and husband Leon A. Wilson Sr.
He was a dairy farmer with his uncle, Buck Jones at Little Acorn Farm during his adult life until he retired because of poor health.
He is survived by his loving companion Doris Elaine Brown Poe; sister, Mary Sue Poe Coller and husband Lee L. Coller; nephew, Lee L. Coller Jr. and his children Molly Elizabeth and Joseph William Coller; niece, Melody Ann Coller and Scott DuBurk, half sister, Jenny Poe Wheeler and her children Megan Wheeler Snider and husband Stephen Tradd Wheeler, three stepsisters and a half brother.
Also surviving were cousins Leon A. Wilson Jr., Joy Wilson Barnett and husband Alex, their children James Wilson Barnett, Adrianne Barnett Nagy and husband John and their son Alexander Wilson.
