MEBANE - Mrs. Hazel Farrell Hurteau, 95, formerly of Farrell Road, Mebane and presently of Alamance Health Care Center, Burlington, died at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012 at 6:55 a.m.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Walter Michael Hurteau and the daughter of James William Farrell and Manie Pickard Farrell, both deceased. She was a retired Nurse's Aide, Hospice volunteer and homemaker. Hazel was a member of Hawfields Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include three sons, Fred Hurteau and wife Millie of Mebane, Gary Hurteau and wife Claudia of Elon and Richard Hurteau and wife Cassie of Mebane; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Philip Kenneth Hurteau; two sisters, Catherine Capps and infant Della Marie Farrell; and five brothers, Garland Farrell, Dewey Farrell, Colon Farrell, J. W. Farrell and Hal Farrell.
The funeral service will be conducted at Hawfields Presbyterian Church on Friday, Nov. 9, 2012 at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Sam Jenkins, CRE. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m.
