The Rev. Henry Ray Sink

BURLINGTON -The Rev. Henry Ray Sink, 79, died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013 at Duke University Medical Center in Durham.
A native of Lexington, the Rev. Sink was the fiancé of Geneva Farlow, who survives, and the husband of the late Susan Sadtler Sink. He was the son of the late John Raymond Sink and the late Gurlah Mae Michael Sink.
The Rev. Sink was a retired Lutheran and Episcopal minister, serving congregations in North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Alabama. He served as Mission Developer of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Cary. He was an active member of Rotary International and was a founding member and supporter of the Gallery Players in Burlington. Rev. Sink was also a member of Mensa.
In addition to his fiancée, Geneva Farlow, of Mebane, the Rev. Sink is survived by two daughters, Martha Sink and Sarah Sink and husband Shane Iwaniec, all of Burlington; two stepsons, Matt Pruitt of Richmond, Va. and Grey Pruitt of Memphis, Tenn.; Geneva's children, Lisa Wilson and husband Mike, and Cindy Nason, all of Mebane; grandchildren, Daniel Slaughter, Lizzie Slaughter, Syan Iwaniec, Serra Jo Iwaniec, Tabitha Finta-Pruitt, Billy Owens Jr., Jordan Wilson, Taylor Wilson and Madison Nason; and a sister, Kathryn Ayers of Greensboro.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013, at 2 p.m. in Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 1100 Curtis Street, Greensboro, NC 27406, where the Rev. Sink was a member. Officiating will be Pastor Tim Gamelin and the Rev. Bernie Hess.
The family will receive friends immediately after the service at the church and at other times will be at the residence of Geneva Farlow, 801 Stuart Ct., Mebane, N.C. or at the residence of Martha Sink in Burlington.
