GRAHAM - Mr. Jack W. Foushee, 68, of Graham died at his residence on Tuesday, March 18, 2014, following a lengthy illness.
A native of Graham, N.C., he was the son of the late Jack William Foushee and Audrey Durham Foushee, who survives. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force
. Jack retired from the Alamance County Sheriff's Department with the rank of Captain with over 25 years of service. He was a member of the Retired Peace Officers' Association and the N. C. Retired Governmental Employees' Association. The Long Leaf Pine Award was awarded to him in the year of 2000.
Jack was a member of Graham Friends Church and the Quaker Men of the church.
In addition to his mother, survivors include a daughter, Jan F. Burge; granddaughter, Laurin E. Burge; a very special friend, Shirley Bristow Pettigrew; and uncle, Charles E. Foushee and wife Rowena.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Graham on Friday, March 21, 2014, at 2 p.m. by Dr. Charles Foushee and Dr. Tommy Willis. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.
